Canning and Utah State Fair

It's that time of year again!! Whenever September comes my mom and I gear up for some major salsa canning. Last year was my first year doing it with my mom and this year Tyler and David even joined in on the fun (though I don't think they will be helping us again next year, they were scarred). We made 7 dozen jars of salsa and
I am canned out! It took two days and staying up til 1 in the morning to complete our project but it is so worth it! Now I'm glad it's over :)

Tyler also surprised me with a date night out to the fair! This is a tradition that we look forward to every year and I was so excited to go! We always look at all the booths and then go to a couple shows. This year there was a comedian that was hilarious and then some divers who jumped into an extremely shallow pool, I don't know how they did it.
It was such a fun time. Thanks to my
Honey for takin me on a date night!

As a side note to our awesome weekend, we had a couple moments where Ty and I scared my mom so bad and it was hilarious!! I don't know why it is so funny to me to scare someone because I get so mad whenever Tyler scares me (which he does all the time).

Anyways, this has lead to us starting a game with Halloween coming up and everything. For those of you who have seen the Worst Witch (a super old Halloween movie that is my favorite!) there is a part where they have a scaring contest and they would get a point every time they scared someone. Well, with all of us living in the same
House for the time being, we are going to do that exact thing. We will start a score board and whoever has the most
Points by November 1 gets some sort of prize. I will keep this updated on how it's going, bring on the scaring!

Labor Day Weekend

We had such a fun, busy weekend! We were spoiled because Ty didn't have to work Saturday or Monday for the holiday so we got a three day weekend together!

The Lloyd family reunion was this weekend (this is Linda's side of the family). It was a blast eating yummy food, playing kickball, watching the younger kids do their talents, and just to catch up with everyone. Everyone's lives change so fast that it's hard to keep up on what everyone is doing!

Then we were invited to go with our new friends Brad and Rachelle and their baby Avery to antelope island. So much fun, especially since we got so close to some buffalo!! It was awesome. We also saw some antelope and we saw PLENTY of bugs. Holy cow. It was like the plague, there were so many bugs. Luckily they were only by the water so they didn't bother us on our hike.

We ended our afternoon by hitting up the wing coop. Looks kinda shady but it is so GOOD! Best wings ever! They have like a million different sauces to choose from that I have to go back just try some different kinds.

Another thing that we have been doing is selling some of our old stuff (mostly furniture) on ksl. Talk about addicting! I have already sold 6 things on their and it has been so fun! I just get excited because we get to use the money to get nicer things! And I've realized that I'm quite the saleswoman during the process ;)

So, as I was writing this post, I thought of a funny conversation Ty and I had recently and I kinda feel like putting it
On here so bare with me!
Ty: these pears are kinda going bad. They're pretty squishy.
Me: Well it's not my fault you didn't eat it the day I bought them!
Ty: Well I'm not just gonna eat a cornucopia!

Ha! Oh man I laughed so hard with that one. This just shows mine and Tyler's daily conversations we have.

Writing about that conversation made me think of another one we had recently as well so bare with me again!

Ty and I have talked about adopting a baby from a different country sometime in the distant future. So one day I said I want to adopt a Polynesian baby! Wouldn't it be cool to go to Polynesia...! Tyler started to busted a gut. Now those of you who don't know why he is laughing, don't worry, I was in that spot too. Apparently Polynesia is not even a place. It's the Polynesian islands :) learn something new everyday!

Ok off of that tangent :) here's some pictures!

Park city getaway

Hillary and Jesse had gotten us a stay at the Chateaux in Park City for our birthdays and we were finally able to book it for this weekend! It was so nice to getaway for a little bit!

The hotel was gorgeous and each room had a fireplace which made things very cozy :) for some reason, they were not able to issue us our keys so we had to be escorted to our room two times before they offered to move us to a new room and give us an upgrade to a master suite! It was sweet!
The things we did while up in park city:
-ate dinner at the Cena restaurant in the hotel. Best food I've had in my life!
-walked down main street and stopped in the bookstore
-went back to main street to their incredible deli for breakfast and of course got a Carmel apple.
-shopped at the outlets and got some incredible deals.
-drove through Gaurdsmans pass to Big Cottonwood Canyon and then headed to oktoberfest!
- looked at all the cool booths and ate some yummy brats.
-then headed home back to reality :)

Thanks Hillary and Jesse for the awesome present and thanks to my
Honey for a great weekend!

Oh and I got new awesomely red glasses that Tyler calls my "red baron glasses". He always teases me :)

Adyson is 2!

This last weekend we got to celebrate Adyson turning 2 years old! It is so crazy that she is two, I feel like it was yesterday that we were at the hospital with Amy getting ready for her to come out!
She was the best party girl and had a blast with her bounce house and friends. I've never seen a two year old who gives a hug to every person after she opened their present! It was so cute!
Here are just a few pictures I got from the party. Excuse Tyler for looking a little tired and sick, he went camping at Mona the night before for a bachelor party for tucker smith and got about 3 hours of sleep! Crazy boys....
Also I am a little late to be blogging about this BUT David and Mckenzie got engaged!!!!! We are so excited and can not wait for them to be married and have kenz be a part of the fam :) congrats guys!

New Ward

This last Sunday Ty and I spent our first day at our new ward. It happens to be the ward that I spent my teenage years in and I have missed it!
Immediately when we got there, people welcomed us and asked how we were doing. I thought maybe it was just because they knew me, but even with Tyler they were so welcoming! Everyone was introducing themselves to him.
In relief society I got assigned visiting teaching and in priesthood, Tyler was already helping plan the ward party! That night, sister Gill the relief society president came over with a belated birthday gift (I wasn't even in the ward when it was my birthday!) AND a bag full of food to make a dinner just to welcome us. Talk about kindness!
I'm so grateful for our new ward! I have just been reminded how much our church teaches us to be kind and serve others. Im grateful that we can be in the ward we are in to take part in that service!

Blast of a Weekend

I don't know why bountiful always celebrates their holidays not actually on the holiday. Like the 4th of July is celebrated on the 3rd and the 24th of July was celebrated on the 20th. I'm not complaining, I love that we have an extra day to celebrate the holidays, but I have never understood it!

Anyways, I was able to take Owen and Elle to all the bountiful celebrations for pioneer day. We went to the carnival, swimming, the parade, and fireworks. We had such a blast! We changed things up this year and ended up watching the fireworks from bountiful ridge golf course rather than at the jr. High. We are definitely going to keep doing that for years to come! It was way less busy.

I continued to get spoiled for my birthday this weekend too. David and mckenzie got me a gift card to Bombay house so Ty and I went there for dinner before going to see dark night rises. Best movie of my life!! It was so so good, I left the theatre wanting to watch it again right then I loved it so much. Ty actually tried to hold back tears in the show ;)

And the fun didn't end there. Cayleen took me to see Wicked at Capitol theatre. Best broadway of my life! It was so good and I was so lucky that Cayleen took me.

Tyler and I always joke about having a birthday week and take full advantage of all the things that we can do (such as listening to our own music in the car) so I am sad that my week is over but it was the best birthday eva! I am one lucky gal

Tangled Birthday

For my 22nd birthday, I was spoiled. I have the best hubby for putting it all together for me and the best family for all coming to celebrate with me!

The night before my birthday, I had gotten really sick and was in bed at about 7. While I was sleeping, Ty was being sneaky and decorating downstairs. He put purple and yellow streamers all over the place and even made me a birthday chair :) I loved it!

I was lucky enough to have Ty get work off on my birthday so he could come with me to take the kiddos to Seven Peaks! We had a blast! Owen and Elle were crazy about the water slides and had the time of their lives. We could have easily spent the whole day there.

Then my mom joined us to go get some snow cones and to watch the kids with Ty while they let me go get a much needed hair cut. I always love getting a good hair cut. It makes me feel so fresh!

For my birthday dinner I knew where I for sure wanted to go. I have been obsessed with the Old Spaghetti Factory. They have the yummiest Garlic Bacon Mizithra dish that you have to try! My mom, David, Cayleen, and Mckenzie were all able to come as well as Linda, Larry, Randy, Jo, and Kip. But, of course, the life of the party was Hillary, Jesse, Owen, and Elle.

While I was opening the presents, Owen asked me where his present was for me. I explained to him that he had already given it to me, reminding him that it was a dinner and a nights stay at a hotel in Park City (such an awesome gift that I am so excited about! Thank you Hillary and Jesse). His response to that was, "Do I get to come with you?! Please, please, please let me come with you!" I guess we could get a double queen bed room :)

I was so glad that everyone was able to come to dinner and celebrate with me. I definitely feel blessed that I have such an awesome and supportive family. It was my favorite part of my birthday.

But, little did I know, the fun wasn't over. When we came home, Tyler surprised me with a Tangled cake!!!! I love Tangled :) He even had Tangled napkins AND a tangled princess cup for me. He's the best :) He did play a joke on me with candles that relight every time you blow them out, very funny Tyler! I couldn't figure out why they wouldn't go out!

Tyler even completed my Tangled party by getting me floating lights. For reals. I couldn't believe it either. They actually light up and float away into the sky, just like on Tangled. Where were these when we got married?!

One thing that I especially love about my birthday, that is an added memory, is that I got engaged to my honey on this day! I love thinking about it and how perfect that day was. It's so crazy to say that 2 years ago we got engaged, how time flies! Best decision I ever made to marry that man :)

All in all it was an awesome day and I want to thank everyone for making it so special for me! These are the only pictures I got, and I had to take a picture of my new Silhouette SD that my mom and Ty got for me. I am SO excited about! It has opened a whole new world of crafting for me.
