Happy New Years!

This weekend we celebrated the New Years with a bang! Such a blast! We spent all night Friday prepping our costumes for our New Years Eve Mardi Gras Murder mystery bash :)

Probably one of the most fun things I have done. We had 4 couples to play solve the mystery of who killed Monsieur Pierre.

Here we have the Gothic novelist to the left and the eccentric musician to our right:
(Em and Colton)
The quiet, attractive maid and the no monkeyin' around lawyer:
(Haley and Jake)
The two lovebirds soon to be married- a gator hunter and the Queen of Mardi Gras:
Sadly I did not get a picture of our fourth couple (who were pretty much the best!). Chase and Laura were the crazy French chef and the Las Vegas wife of the deceased Pierre.

Haley was nice enough to host the party and decorated it all cute!
Tyler's mask makes him look like a bird, does it not?
Colton and Haley were the ones who solved the mystery by the end of the night. The game was so much fun to play and especially fun to get into our character roles. It was definitely entertaining hearing Tyler talk about how he kills gators... he would be perfect for the Swamp people show! :)

As the new year struck we were hot tubbing and drinking sparkling cider with everyone. Such a fun night!

Apparently, all of us couples couldn't get enough of each other so we got together the next night and played some Liar's Dice until all hours of the morning. You would think we would have been dead tired by then!

To finish off our party of a weekend, we took a trip up to Midway to swim in the crater at the Homestead with Jake and Haley. Definitely a fun thing to do in Utah if you have never been! But being in the warm water and a different seeming place just made us think of how much we want to travel to all these different places!!! I'm dying for a trip.

I almost forgot to mention that we did see War Horse with my family. Would not recommend it if you want to be happy after you leave the movie theatre. It was depressing. I cried way too many times in that movie.

Other than that slight sad note, it has been a great start to our new year and I am excited for all of the adventures to come for me and the hubs. We already have some fun ideas and trips planned insight!

P.S. the new dining table is finally complete with chairs, table runner, and center piece!
