California Day 2

Sunday morning we woke up ready to go to our camp site. Well, Tyler was ready to go :)

Ty had booked a camp spot on the beach in Cardiff. Cutest little town, I loved it (I will be saying places are the cutest a lot because everywhere we went on our trip, I loved and would move there)! So we drove up to the window to check in around 11 and the worker told us that we could not check in a minute before 2 o'clock. So we were off to find other things for us to do.

Unfortunately, it was pretty chilly right there on the beach, so Ty couldn't get his surf on like we had planned for that day. We decided to instead go do some shopping around town. We were so happy when we found a Patagonia Surf Shop! We also happened upon a farmer's street market that was going on, which kept us entertained for some time.

Finally, 2 o'clock came around and we drove back to our spot to check in. The worker couldn't find our name listed for the spot we had reserved. When he did eventually find it, it was our name under a spot reserved for the next weekend. Woops! So he gave us a walk in spot for the night and each day after that we would have to come wait in line to reserve our spot again for the following night. We were planning on only camping for 3 nights and luckily we were able to keep our same spot the whole time!

After Tyler set up camp (I attempted to help but usually found myself just getting in the way) we were ready to start a fire and eat some grub. Whenever Tyler convinces me to go camping, he usually brings up something about chili dogs and that gets my attention. So, of course, we had to make chili dogs our first night and they were sooo good.

After dinner, we thought it would be fun to head into downtown San Diego and check out Little Italy. Maybe we were just in the wrong spot, but Little Italy did not have much going for it. There was nobody around and hardly anything open. We did happen upon the coolest dessert place ever, though! It was called Extraordinary Desserts and there were millions of different kinds of sweets. They had a restaurant feeling where you would be seated at a table and then you could order off of the menu what kind of dessert you wanted. Ty and I got ours to go and just picked our dessert at the front. They were amazing! Everything was so rich that next time we go we definitely would need to share something.

And that's the end of day 2!
